Identity Collage Portrait
My self portrait resembles me quite well. The redhead brand resembles my love for hunting along with the background. I love to duck hunt so I included a lot of duck hunting stuff. The black shirt resembles all the mornings that I was hunting and it was dark. I put a lot of work into the detail of this project. Portraits can definitely show a different point of view on how you look at somebody. It can show you what people think about that person. It also shows how you want others to see you. If you put certain things in your portrait, it shows people what you like and how you want to be seen.
The heart is located behind the arrow buttons to show that the buttons control the whole system. The heartbeat sensor shows the life of the heart beating. It also shows that when you see a big fish on the fish finder, it gets your heart pounding more and makes you nervous. Fishing is my life so I picked this to resemble that in a way. The reason that it is gray is because that's what they look like and I wanted to resemble it as much as possible. I should have added more colors but there wasn’t a whole lot of places to do it. The process took some time to get it right and make everything look nice. I had made 3 different sketches to try and get a good idea and I finally got one that worked and I stuck with that.
I had a great idea to do a deer picture with mountains and a river. I used lyrics from Huntin Fishin Lovin Everyday. The words that you use in these projects can make a big impact on the project. The lyrics help put the whole artwork together. I used these lyrics because it's one of my favorite songs and it fits the idea. The words inside the drawings say what it is. These words show different perspectives on projects. The mountains represent the struggles in life. The river represents how life will flow no matter what decision you make. The sun shows there's always hope in things. The deer would be a person making decisions.
American flags are a symbol of our country. I love the American flag so that's why I decided to make a stamp. The flag that I did was the one with the 13 stars. Those stars represent the original 13 colonies. The flag represents our country and every american should be proud of it. The flag is everywhere so I decided it would be a good idea to make a stamp so you can use it whenever you need to.
To make the stamp, I had to first draw out my plans for the flag. Then I pressed it on the stamp so the lead showed up on the stamp. I then started cutting it out, which took forever. I wish I would have done the stars differently. It took quite a few try to finally get the stamp right. I had to do some trimming on the stamp so it showed up better on the paper.

We worked with some chalk, which was a new material to me. I was told to just let my mind free and see what happens. At first, I was quite confused as to what I was drawing. then it slowly started forming and I tried to turn it into a wild fire. It was a lot of fun to make. We were able to use the chalk pieces and our hands as well, which gave it the smeared effect. Then its just a matter of combining colors and seeing what you can do.
I sculpted this bobber because it really means something to me. I've been fishing since I could walk. If I was ever depressed, I just went fishing and I could just relax and enjoy myself. To make it, I grabbed a good chunk of clay and started making a ball. Once I got it as smooth as I could, I hollowed out the inside pretty evenly so I could so it would dry nicely. Then I had to smooth it out even more after I hollowed out the inside because it got rough again. I then made the top part of the bobber and placed it on top. I made it all smooth and then let it dry. Once it was fully dry, I put masking tape along the middle to get a perfect line for the white and red. Once it was done, I let it dry and then it was done.
My project was on helping hometown heroes. All these people went and fought for our country and I don't think they get enough credit for it. Some even live on the streets and to me, that's not right. They deserve to be treated very well for all of their sacrifices. I've had multiple family members go and fight off in another country and I respect them greatly. I respect all veterans and active duty military members. This idea spoke to me because there is a good amount of military veterans around the area and they don't seem to be noticed as much as they should be. I found an outline of soldiers and I thought it would be perfect to use for this project. Then I saw the phrase "Helping Hometown Heroes" and I knew that was perfect. I drew them and shaded it all in black. I then made the flag in the background, trying to make it as close as I could to the real one. I wish I would have shaded it a lot better. I think it would have made the art project look much better.
